Please welcome Nathan Campbell to our iOS support team as of January 27, 2014. He joins us from Bogan High School which has one of the largest iOS deployments at the secondary level within the district.
Nathan was the Digital Learning Coordinator at Bogan HS for a year. In that time he successfully lead a pilot of 13 teachers using 300 iPads across 40 classes each day. He facilitated weekly professional development for the pilot members including app exploration, app demo slams, app smashing and analysis of web-based tools supported by iOS. He assisted the teachers in creating virtual classrooms and using social media to enhance teaching. Welcome Nathan! We are so glad you are a part of this amazing team. With your experience and vision, we will be a leading support team!

During our leveling process as I have gone out to several schools, I'm finding a lot of schools aren't aware of the feature in Configurator that allows you to set the name of the device on the lock screen.
1. Open Apple Configurator 2. Connect your Bretford Cart USB cable to the Sync Station 3. Click on Apple Configurator Menu 4. Click on Preferences 5. Click on the Lock Screen button on the top menu bar 6. Click the radio button that states "Device or user name" 7. Click the X on the top left to close 8. Under the Supervise tab click refresh 9. Each device will now have the name on the lock screen allowing you to visually see which iPad you have and what cart it belongs to. CPS has collaborated with Apple to finally release iOS 7.0.4 district wide. CPS highly recommends using Apple Configurator to manage your iPad devices. This can be used with and without a sync cart from Bretford. Remember we have the daytime Apple blocks from 8am-4pm district wide. You must open a ticket to have the blocks lifted when you are prepared to upgrade. The iOS files for Apple Configurator can be found on your compliance site. The iOS files for iTunes will be released February 2014 along with instructions. These files are large, and can slow down your local network. Please keep in mind not to do this during any online assessments. If you need any assistance, please contact the service desk to open a ticket. Thank you and happy upgrading!
Tip: Make sure you sign into each iPad using the assigned Apple ID for the device, this will simply things moving down as we continue to grow with iPads. Kathie |
