We met with Apple again today: Per Apple, please do not upgrade your iPads to iOS 7.
Since iOS 7 was released in mid-September, Apple has updated that iOS two times, with a third one coming this month (iOS 7.03). Along with that upgrade, iTunes and Apple Configurator also have new updates.
Do not install apps or sync your iPads, as this will attempt to install iOS 7 and may make your devices inoperable.
Apple and ITS are diligently working on a process and documentation to fix this issue.
In the meantime, if you have not done so already, please install Jamf on your MacBooks. This is found on your school's compliance site: http://school-adm01.cps.k12.il.us.
