Ordering iPads
We’d like to take a moment to welcome your school to iPads@CPS.  A world of possibilities is about to open up for your faculty, staff and students! The iOS Support Team is here to help along the way.

This page is designed to walk your building leadership through some foundational steps aimed at helping your school prepare for the arrival of your devices.
Step 1:  Ordering
There are different iPad solutions available to CPS schools in Oracle. Your school leadership should explore the various solutions and select the one that meet your building's unique needs and goals. Below you will find a PDF file of the solutions that are currently available to schools. If you have any questions about these solutions, please email us at ipads@cps.edu.

Step 2:  Wireless Access Points
iPads are supported through a school's wifi network via Wireless Access Points (WAPs). Your school leadership should assess your building's wireless robustness prior to your iPads being deployed.  In particular, it is important that there is a sufficient number of wireless access points (WAPs) in your building.

If you have questions regarding your WAPs, please email netops@cps.edu

Step 3:  Set up your school's Volume Purchase Program (VPP) account
VPP is Apple's bulk purchase site for apps and ebooks. Each school has one VPP Program Facilitator (PF). Your principal is able to designates someone else to be the PF at any time. The iOS Support Team does not make any recommendation as to who the principal chooses for this role other than an individual managing the iPads.

To change the VPP PF account owner, please have your principal call in a ticket to the ITS Service Desk to make the change.

Please see our VPP web page for more info

Step 4:  Set up your school's Apple IDs
If you do not know your school's Apple ID information, please contact the ITS Service desk.

Please see our web page Apple IDs for CPS for more info
